Doesn't want to ruin her credit score?

Given your description of her situation, I doubt she has a score worth saving. Bankruptcy is likely her only option.

I would assume that with $100,000 in debt, no job and paying her monthly bills with credit cards, her credit score is already pretty much ruined. It's kind of late to be thinking about saving her credit score.

If she has no income and that much debt, bankruptcy is about her only option.

Under the new bankruptcy laws, she'll be required to get credit counseling first. The Department of Justice has a list of approved counselors on their website. I suggest she find one of the approved ones for her state and find out her options.

I've posted the link to search on the DOJ website by state for an approved credit counselor in your state.

If she doesn't have any income coming in then I think she really does not have any choice but, to file for bankruptcy, she could also use some counseling from Consumer Credit Counseling its a free service, that helps you manage your bills and make the right choices.
